New Years Eve
Crystal Mountain is so much fun on New Years Eve. The best way to ring in the New Year is with other people who know what is important: snow, skiing, snowboarding.
This year marked an exceptionally fun New Years at Crystal Mountain because there were tons of people at the mountain due to the great conditions. As usual, there was a big turn-out to watch the fireworks at the base area. During the fireworks display, a man next to me said, "This is what's great about Crystal: Amazing skiing, and then you get this!"
Crystal Mountain offers RV parking in B Lot, and every year I see more and more RVs in that lot for New Years. It's prime real estate as it is just a 5 minute walk from your mobile home to not only the Chinook chairlift but also to all of the New Years Eve festivities. I think the word is spreading about RVs and Crystal on New Years Eve because B Lot was almost filled to the rim with RVs this year. After the midnight countdown to 2008, I spent my first minutes of the New Year strolling through B Lot crashing bonfires. Every place I stopped, people welcomed me and invited me over to stand by their fire pit. It made me wish I had an RV.
Jan 1, 2008, snowboarding was fantastic. The snow is staying nice due to the cold temperatures. Let the snow keep flyin'!
